TOR To Refine Crude Oil At Optimum Level Soon 

The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, says Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) will soon be refining crude oil at optimal level.  

He says government is in talks with a private entity, Petro Saudi to overhaul the marketing component of the refinery. The aim is not to diversify TOR but to boost its working capital.

Mr. Buah made this known to Parliament when the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh sought the details of the joint venture arrangement between Petro Saudi and TOR.

On steps the Ministry is taking to ensure TOR procures crude oil for refining, Mr.Buah said the Ministry is securing 37 million dollars to complete TOR’s profitability enhancement project.  

He said already 30 million dollars has been sunk into this.
