Government dissolves premix committee - Sherry Ayittey 

Government has dissolved the premix committee and a new board is expected to be inaugurated in two weeks. 

It comes a few days after some fishermen in the Central Region backed by the NDC Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacob, called on government to investigate the nefarious activities of the committee in the region. 

The new committee will be expected to manage and oversee the activities of the landing beaches. 

This was announced in Accra by the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Sherry Ayittey at a national stakeholder’s validation workshop on the draft fisheries management plan.
