Dr. Bawumia describes IMF bailout as 'scandalous'

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu  Bawumia says increase in government expenditure, unbridled borrowing, amongst others account for the current state of the nation's economy.  

He said government is enjoying more in terms of revenue, and does not understand why the nation should go for an IMF bailout.  

Speaking at a Forum dubbed "will the anchor hold” in Accra, Dr. Bawumia mentioned corruption and unsustainable debt as factors that have given cause for the bailout.
