20th March, 2015 The Daily Graphic agrees with the chief Justice that in as much as Ghanaians have the right to express their opinions on issues in the public, certain expressions must not quick jump the defence of democracy and create a situation where the judiciary becomes the object of public ridicule. It says the beauty of democracy lies in the containment of dissenting situations within reasonable limits that do not threaten the system itself. The Ghanaian Times condemns the drunkenness of the two policemen on duty at the Denu Police Station resulting in the escape of suspected armed robbers. According to the Paper, the rise in criminal activities in the Volta Region is alarming and should be a wakeup call for all the security agencies operating in the region to reverse the trend adding that the presence of these security agencies should be a more reason for which crime should be minimal. The Paper commends the Police Administration's directive to the officers to produce the fugitives but says they should be punished for their unprofessional conduct. GBC
