Governance Must Continue To Run – MP A member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Subsidiary Legislation and MP for Offinso south, Ben Abdullah Banda says the wheels of governance must continue to run with or without the assembly members. The District Assembly Elections to elect new members for the next four years was suspended by the Supreme Court a few days to the elections. The tenure of the current assembly members by law is expected to end on Tuesday 14th March, 2015. But in an interview with Radio Ghana, Mr Banda who is also the deputy ranking member on the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs committee, stressed that the absence of assembly members should not affect progress of work in the assemblies. Expressing his opinion on monies already spent on the printing of ballot papers and other materials by the EC, Mr Abdullah says the commission has caused financial loss to the state and would have been penalised if it had happened elsewhere.
