Kpone youth demonstrate against “illegal” sale of lands & unfair power distribution The Concerned Youth of Kpone this on Tuesday went into the streets of Kpone to press home their demand for what they term illegal sale of lands and bad treatment following the long hours with which their lights are put off. Clad in all red apparels, the youth sang war songs expressing their displeasure at the operations of the Kpone Traditional Council and some Companies operating on their lands without the youth benefiting. The angry youth held placards with inscriptions that read, “Attipoe must go”, “we want accountability and transparency”, “leave our lands”, “let us benefit from your operations”. Speaking to Radio Ghana’s Edith Eshun at Kpone, the Spokesperson of the Concerned Youth of Kpone, David Tettey said though they have tried to have a tete-a-tete with the leadership of the Kpone Traditional Council and Management of the Sunon Asogli, little attention was paid to them. The Concerned Youth of Kpone are also calling for the removal of the registrar of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs. Samuel Nii Noi Agyeman is the Chairman of the Concerned Youth of Kpone.
