Indonesian president defends refusal to grant clemency to drug criminals

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has defiantly defended his reasons for refusing to let a Ghanaian and eight other convicted drug smugglers off death row.

President Joko Widodo admits he has rejected 64 clemency bids and is not ready to forgive any drug criminal.

The death sentence, according to the Indonesian President, was given by a judge in court.

President Widodo described the external pressure on him as normal adding that he is used to being pressured.
