First Lady asks market women to pay back loans The First Lady Mrs Lordina Mahama has asked market women to make an effort to pay back whatever loan they are enjoying from government, making particular reference to MASLOC loans. She said it is only when they pay back such loans that other people can also get the opportunity to improve their business. The First Lady was speaking in Accra when she hosted two hundred Market women executives and the Greater Accra Queen Mothers Association. The meeting was to deliberate on women issues and development. It was also to commemorate International Women's Day which falls on March 8. The First Lady said the inability of most people to pay loans cripples the activities of Masloc and makes it difficult to reach other people who are in need of loans to do business. The First Lady Lordina Mahama also urged Queen Mothers to fight against practices and beliefs which promote gender discrimination. First Lady Lordina Mahama, the President of the Greater Accra Women's Association, Mercy Nii Djan expressed gratitude to the First Lady for hosting them to know their plight.
