The Daily Graphic expresses worry about the huge debt owed by the National Health Insurance Authority to some major public health facilities in the Greater Accra Region which threaten the collapse of the scheme. The paper believes the health of a country's population is in its wealth. The Paper testifies to the horrifying experiences that took place under the cash and carry system, with needless deaths arising out of people's inability to pay for the cost of services needed to save lives. The Paper therefore calls on government to take the necessary steps to ensure that the Health Insurance scheme does not face any such challenges in the future.

The Ghanaian Times commends the President for dismissing of the Ashanti Regional Minister and his deputy. The Paper maintains it is a step in the right direction. It says the sacking of the two should serve as an example to all other ministers who are feeling comfortable and not working in the interest of the people. While commending the President for his bold and decisive action, the Times hopes the same means would be used to get rid of all other "arm chair" ministers and appointees. The Paper applauds the President for saving the situation and averting any unforeseen calamities in Ashanti Region and urges him to look beyond the Region to promote good governance, tranquility and development.
