Minority Leader On Mandate Of GBC

The Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu says there is confusion about the mandate of GBC as it is a Public Service Broadcaster but still receives public funding. 

He said Public Broadcasting in the past was fully funded by the state and a means through which government's propagated their polices and general information on the state of affairs in the country. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Mensah Bonsu said there are different views concerning the compatibility of public broadcasting and commercial broadcasting but the focus should be on whether a Public broadcaster engaging in commercial activities influences its editorial opinion and the ability to serve the interest of the public without being biased.
