The Daily Graphic calls on the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, AMA, to develop new strategies to deal with hawkers in the Central Business District, CBD. According to the paper, in order to ensure a comprehensive solution to the situation, it is important to find the root cause and tackle them decisively. The Graphic believes one major step towards halting hawking in the CBD is to curtail the rural-urban drift by providing easy access to decent livelihood in all the decentralised parts of the country. The paper holds the opinion that, the problem of street hawking is a national issue and to curtail it successfully, a bi-partisan approach must be adopted to ensure that the habit becomes a thing of the past.

The Ghanaian Times wonders whether the memoranda on child adoption championed by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection expected to be sent to Parliament for ratification and passage into law includes surrogacy. The paper is of the view that the practice is gradually gaining grounds in the country and needs legal protection.
