Boy 16 arrested for illegal possession of a fire arm and ammunition A 16 year old boy, Ahmed Tijani from Alabar in Kumasi, has been arrested by the police for illegal possession of a fire arm and ammunition. Tijani, was among several suspects rounded up by the police for various criminal activities in the Alabar area. The Zongo District Police Commander, Superinendent Nyamekye Andane told Radio Ghana that Tijani was arrested with a bag containing the weapon. The suspect is in police custody and is being processed for court on Monday the 23rd of this month. Meanwhile, a 34 year old Nigerian businessman, Christian Jonathan Chaka was found dead in a room at Alabar in Kumasi. Chaka, who seals motor bikes and other mechanical parts has been in Ghana with his brother for some years now. According to the Zongo District Police Commander, Superintendent Nyamekye Andane, a store boy last Friday morning, had gone to where Chaka resides to collect the keys to the store, but after several knocks on the door, he noticed that it had been locked from inside with no response from within. Superintendent Andane said, the store boy then traced Chaka’s brother and informed him about the issue. He said after the door to his room had been forced open, Chaka’s lifeless body was found on the bed, with blood oozing from the mouth and nostrils. Superintendent Andane said the body of the deceased has been sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy. GBC
