Cabinet approves amendment to Children`s Act 

Cabinet has approved a request from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to amend the Children's Act. 

In furtherance of this, a number of memoranda on children have been approved. They include the ratification of the Hague Convention on Inter-Country Adoptions, and Approval of Child and Family Welfare Policy. 

The Communications Advisor of the Sector Ministry, Abraham Asare, told Radio Ghana that the Department of Social Welfare under the supervision of the ministry, will set up a central authority to streamline the adoption of children after Parliament amends the Children's Act.
