Curfews in Northern, Volta regions renewed

The Ministry of the Interior has renewed the curfews imposed on Bimbilla and Nakpanduri townships in the Northern region. 

It has also renewed that of Alavanyo and Nkonya in the Volta region. 

The curfews which take effect from Friday are from 6pm to 6am. 

In a statement, the Sector Minister, Mark Woyongo expressed appreciation to the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and the people of these areas for their efforts in ensuring peace and asked them to use the established mechanisms for the resolution of all conflicts and disputes. 

Mr Woyongo reiterated that any person or group found carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon will be dealt with accordingly.
