Air strike kills thirty-seven people in Niger

Reports from Niger say thirty-seven people have died in an air strike in the southern part of the country.  

They were attending a funeral in a village on the border with Nigeria when an unidentified plane began dropping bombs.  

The incident occurred as the Nigerian army announced the killing of more than 300 Boko Haram militants. 

Nigeria's defence spokesman Chris Olukolade said a number of Boko Haram fighters have been captured and weapons and equipment seized.
