KKD to go through trial at Accra High Court

After being absent in court on two occasions for committal, renowned broadcaster Kwasi Kyei Darkwah finally appeared in court today and has been committed by the Kaneshie District Court to go through trial at the Accra High Court for his alleged rape case.

The trial will begin on the 18th of next month.

According to state prosecutors, there is sufficient evidence to try KKD at the High Court and there is also a prima facie case to support the charge against him. 

But KKD's lawyer, Tony Forson says the state has no case against his client stressing that the charge cannot be pursued by the prosecution in view of the victim's withdrawal of the case against KKD.
