Media Foundation For West Africa Calls For Self-Regulation By Media Practitioners As World Marks Radio Day The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa, Suleiman Braimah, says despite the emergence of social media, radio still remains the most prominent media worldwide. He says radio still serves as the primary source of information to a greater number of people globally. Speaking to Radio Ghana on the occasion of World Radio Day, Mr Braimah says in order to entrench the importance of radio, there is the need for self-regulation on the part of practitioners and owners. It is fleeting, transient, abstract and common. It's expansive nature attracts more users even in remotest communities. Radio is a simple technology and loved by many. The World is today observing Radio Day. The Day is focusing on the youth participation in Radio. When days of such nature are celebrated over a period of time, many wonder how significant the day is to celebrants. Others also prefer to know its impact on society. Radio Ghana on the day engages some broadcasters who work behind the microphone to get the listening public to listen to Radio. GBC
