Challenges in economy attributed to lack of long-term national development plan-Dr Anthony Akoto Osei

The ranking member of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei has attributed the challenges in the economy to the lack of a long-term national development plan to guide successive governments.

Speaking at a public lecture on the 2015 budget in Accra, Dr Akoto Osei noted that the current energy crisis could have been avoided if the country had put in place measures to sustain the sector.

Citing the 2015 budget as an example, Dr Akoto Osei noted that measures to address the power crisis which is affecting the livelihood of Ghanaians were elusive in the budget.
