Fix Seatbelts Back In Vehicles Or Face Consequences - MTTD The Deputy Commander of the Brong Ahafo Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Division (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, ASP David Nyuah, has cautioned drivers and vehicle owners who have removed seatbelts from their vehicles to fix them or face the consequences of the law. In an interview with GBC in Sunyani, ASP Nyuah revealed that though there has been an extension of the date for drivers and vehicle owners whose cars are without seatbelts to fix them it does not mean that those who intentionally remove theirs should not fix it. ASP Nyuah pointed out that the Road Traffic Regulation LI 2180 section 119 sub section one, states that a person shall not drive a motor vehicle unless it has a seatbelt. He said though not wearing seatbelt is not a major cause of road accidents it helps reduce the fatality of accidents. The Brong Ahafo Regional Secretary of the GPRTU, Richard Yaw Amankwah on their part revealed that they are willing to abide by the Road Traffic Regulation if only government allows companies to supply them with the seatbelts.
