Power outages could improve if issues are not politicized - GUTA The power outages the country is currently going through are said to be having a toll on trade, industry and commerce. Though most people in the country have suggested ways of improving the situation, the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) thinks that Ghanaians are not being told the truth on the real issues affecting electricity production and distribution. According to GUTA, the situation could improve if the issues are not politicised. The PRO of GUTA, Joseph Paddy made these comments on Radio Ghana's Current Affairs programme, FOCUS which discussed the power outages and their effect on trade, industry and commerce. The PRO of the Accra West Station of the ECG, Eric Asante explained the need for the load shedding and reasons why it has become a huge problem where some areas go off for days. Contributing to the programme via telephone, an Economist and a lecturer at the Business School of the University of Cape Coast, John Gati said the situation is affecting academic work. GBC
