Proper use of PPEs in fighting Ebola critical says Health Expert Though Ghana is yet to confirm an infection of the deadly Ebola disease, contingency measures in terms of education and surveillance have been put in place by the various health institutions to tackle any confirmed case. Moreover, security personnel manning the country’s border posts are on high alert as surveillance and patrol activities have also been heightened to screen people arriving from Ebola hit countries. Despite these interventions, little attention has been given to the health workers who stand the greater risk of contracting the deadly Ebola virus in the event of any confirmed case. According to a health expert at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital, Julius Godson, education for frontline health workers on the use of personal protective equipment, PPEs in fighting Ebola was critical since majority of them are not abreast with the proper use of the PPEs, also known as the coverall.
