Government decentralises agricultural sector to regional and district levels

Farmer Based Organisations, Private Producers, farmers and stakeholders in the Agro industry are being asked to become partners to help improve soil fertility through the use of organic and inorganic fertilizers.

At a presentation of research finding and recommendations on soil fertility management in Accra, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Dr Ahmed Yakubu Alhassan pointed out that government has concentrated on decentralising the agricultural sector to the regional and district levels to bridge the gap between government and the private sector as a way of tackling agricultural related matters to enhance productivity.
