CAGD urged to take second look at existing business processes to ensure accountability of payments

The Controller and Accountant General's Department has been urged to take a second look at its existing business processes to ensure that it is able to verify all payments made to ensure accountability.

This will also reduce the number of ghost names on the pay roll.

The suggestion, according to Imani Ghana will help regain public confidence in the country’s pay roll management.

In an interview with Radio Ghana's Gloria Anderson, the Executive Director of Imani Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe insisted that all Ministries, Departments and Agencies must be asked to sign a legal consent form as part of the pay roll process.

The Controller must also make an effort to introduce quarterly audits by a third party on the payroll records.
