AFCON 2015: Defender Amartey returns for quarter final game on Sunday Ghana defender Daniel Amartey is to make a return to the team on Sunday, for the quarter final game at the Estadio De Malabo. Amartey, who was carried off the pitch before the close of the first half against South Africa , has undergone series of medical examinations and declared fit. This was contrary to fears that, the defender who was aided off the pitch by team officials may miss the rest of the competition. Information gathered by the GNA Sports reveals that, the defender’s injury was not as serious as initially feared with scan results indicating no muscle tear. Amartey, was replaced by John Boye during the last Group C game against South Africa at the Estadio De Mongomo on Tuesday evening.
