High Court Judge urges prisoners who believe they have genuine cases to seek assistance from Legal Aid Board

A High Court Judge Justice Najjet Nassam has admonished prison inmates who believe they have genuine cases but could not seek proper legal counsel because of lack of resources or were reluctant to divulge vital information to the prosecution for various reasons, to seek assistance from the Legal Aid Board.

In an interview with Radio Ghana Justice Nassam said the fact that people find themselves in prison does not necessarily mean they committed the crime.

Meanwhile, Radio Ghana's Ibrahim Kwarteng has visited the Nsawam Prison and the Senior Correctional Center, in Accra to find out from some inmates how the reformation and rehabilitation of prisoners being undertaken by the prison service is impacting on their lives.

He was also at a church service and a Friday mosque session at Nsawam Prison to interact with some inmates.
