Court Grants Accused Pregnant Woman Bail A pregnant woman, Evelyn Dorson, has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court. She is the wife of one of the robbers who shot and killed a Policeman at Weija in Accra, during a shootout with the Police. Evelyn is standing trial together with her husband and eight others for allegedly assisting her husband Isaac Boadi to get herbal treatment for a gunshot wound he sustained during the shoot-out with the Police. She was given a bail condition of GH¢ 20,000.00 with three sureties, two of which should be public servants. The case has been adjourned to next Monday to enable the prosecution prepare its witnesses. On the 6th of this month, the robbers, numbering about eleven armed themselves with pistols ready to rob the West Gate Mall at Weija when the police received information and pursued them, thereby thwarting the intended operation. Two of the robbers were killed whiles two others are still at large. The robbers are also alleged to be behind the robbery at the Madina branch of Melcom resulting in the death of a security officer last December. GBC
