Frontline health officials undergo training on Ebola Prevention in Bawku


The Presbyterian Health Services of Northern Ghana has received a grant from the Canadian High Commission to implement a project nicknamed ‘the Community–Health Partnership for Effective Response to Ebola’ in the Bawku area. 

The 35 thousand Canadian dollar funded project, is to support health service providers and communities in preparation for effective response to the Ebola threat. Under the project, 52 frontline health officials from Bawku, Garu, Widana and Woriyanga health facilities have undergone training as part of efforts to combat any possible case of Ebola.
 
They were taken through the processes involved in the use of Personal Protective Equipment, PPEs, which include the use of rubber apron, scrub, as well as surgical and gynecological gloves. 

The Project Coordinator, Mr John Alaale Abugri, explained to Radio Ghana's Isaac Asare, that the training has become necessary in the wake of Ebola scare in Bawku and its catchment area.
