Gervinho lashes out at African Nations Cup Group D favourites Ivory Coast began their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 1-1 against Guinea. Mohamed Yattara shot Guinea into the lead on the 36th minute mark with a powerful left foot into the top corner. The star sided Ivorian team failed to immediately break down their Guinean counterparts in the second half after making series of incursions. Former Arsenal striker Gervinho was shown a straight red on the 57th minute mark for slapping an opponent. The equaliser then came in the 72nd minute of the game through substitute Seydou Doumbia who controlled the ball before steering the leveller into the bottom corner.
