Ghana Opens AFCON Campaign Against Senegal Today

The Senior National Football team, the Black Stars will Monday afternoon kick start their campaign in the 30th edition of the African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea as they lock horns with the Teranga Lions of Senegal in Mongomo.

The Black Stars are on a campaign to end their 30-year trophy drought.

It will also be an opportunity for the team to revive their image following the Brazil 2014 World Cup fiasco.

Skipper Asamoah Gyan is in doubt for the opener after suffering from malaria and defender John Boye has also been ruled out. 

But Coach Avram Grant says he is looking forward to his first African match.
