LEKMA supports 200 persons with disability The Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly, in 2013 and 2014, spent a total of 114-thousand-373 Ghana Cedis from the two per cent share of the Disability Fund to support two hundred persons with disability. The money was used to aid in their businesses, education and medical bills. Speaking at the first disbursement ceremony for this year, the Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Badu-Tawiah said in their bid to make the Assembly accessible to the physically challenged, it has made provision for easy accessibility for the physically challenged in its new office block which also affirms the Assembly’s commitment and friendliness to the people with disability. The Chairman of the Disability Fund Management Committee, Michael Adjetey Adjei, said publications alleging that the Assembly used the Disability Fund to procure equipment for use in the Assembly is unfounded and advised relatives of the physically challenged not to despise them for being supported by the Assembly. 71 disabled persons were presented with equipment and cash totalling thirty one thousand eight hundred cedis (GH¢31,800).
