The Daily Graphic lauds the IGP Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, for promoting the policeman killed in the shootout with armed robbers Constable Akata to the rank of corporal. The Paper believes the other policemen on the operation must be rewarded for excellence in police duties and rising to the occasion when it mattered most. The paper is however worried about the presence of few bad nuts in the Police Service who are accomplices of the most hardened criminals in society. The paper bemoans policemen in league with armed robbers, who also become supplies of police gear, including AK47 assault rifles, pump action guns and police apparel which are used to attack the people. The paper is therefore calling on the police high command not to rest on its laurels but bring all such miscreants to book. This will dissuade others from breaching the trust reposed in them by the public to protect them. 

The Ghanaians Times is saddened at the killing of twelve people in the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris.  The paper expresses solidarity with colleague journalists and others who lost their lives and got injured in the attack on Wednesday. The paper describes the attack as despicable and unjustifiable and therefore should be condemned by all peace loving people of the world. According to the Times, the ruthless and indiscriminate killing of unarmed media workers have become the target of religious fanatics adding that their actions have wider implications, beyond the realm of religion. 

The Today News Paper expresses worry about how the President reacts to every issue or concern raised by the people. The paper believes as a President, he should be accommodating enough so as to help him manage the country to the admiration of Ghanaians. The paper thinks it will do the President a lot of good if he stops reacting to every issue and concentrate on building a strong and vibrant economy. The paper calls on the President to be truthful and humble enough to accommodate every criticism and work to prove Ghanaians wrong and not about too much talking.
