Transport Fares To Go Down By 5% Effective Friday

Transport fares are likely to go down by at least five percent with effect from Friday. 

This follows a 10% reduction in fuel prices last week. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the General Secretary of the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council, Alhaji Aliyu Baba, said the Council and other stakeholders are still working out the new fares to avoid confusion. 

He denied earlier reports that transport operators had refused to reduce the fares, explaining that the delay was occasioned by the New Year festivities, as other partners went on break.
