US Gov’t to put in place initiatives to accelerate treatment of HIV/AIDS in children Globally, three thousand six hundred children die of HIV/AIDS every week and four thousand six hundred new babies are infected within a week. To stem this tide the US government and its partners are putting in place new initiatives to accelerate the treatment of children infected with HIV and AIDS. About two hundred million dollars will therefore be committed to the initiative in the next two years is expected to cover an additional three hundred thousand children. The Ambassador at-Large and Coordinator of the US Government Activities to combat HIV/ AIDS, Deborah Brix, made these revelations in the US via Video Conference. GBC
