Past Broadcasters ask GBC to stick to public service broadcaster mandate A former Broadcaster Godwin Avenorgbo has called on media practitioners to conduct thorough research on consumer needs and wants before introducing new programmes. These new programmes must be well supervised to ensure continuity. Mr Avenorgbo speaking on GTV's current Affairs programme Talking Point which discussed GBC' s 80th anniversary said GBC is still relevant and as a pacesetter, it must not follow the crowd but stick to its mandate and convince taxpayers on the need to support GBC financially. A Former Engineer of GBC Theophilus Bonso Bruce agreed with Mr. Avenorgbor on the relevance of GBC and advised the corporation not to pay too much attention to commercialisation but focus on satisfying the needs of its listeners and audience. Mr Bruce suggested that state agencies must pay for all live programmes aired by GBC to help the corporation raise some funds to meet its needs. GBC
