Fire guts Melcom Store Warehouse in North Industrial Area


Fire has gutted the North Industrial Area Warehouse of Melcom Store Ghana destroying items worth millions of cedis. 

The items destroyed include assorted electrical appliances such as refrigerators, flat screen TV's, sewing machines, smartphones and others. 

The fire which started around 3;30am on Saturday, took a combined team of Fire, Police and Ambulance services personnel to
control it. 

According to the Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Fire Service, Billy Anaglatey, they arrived at the scene at 4am, but access to the warehouse was a major challenge. 

They had to use hammers to break parts of the building before getting access.
