Full inauguration of Atuabo Processing Plant to delay The planned full inauguration of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant to deliver 120 million standard cubic feet of gas daily to the Aboadze Power Enclave has not been achieved by the deadline of December 31st 2014 by the operator, the Ghana National Gas Company, Ghana Gas. It is currently considering other options, which are to be made public in order not to run into additional cost after the agreed period in the contract. Officials of Ghana Gas say full inauguration of the plant could be bonded to the operational difficulties of the Volta River Authority, for which reason it had other plans to ensure that the program is completed to confirm the planned design capacity of the processing plant. The Head of Corporate Affairs of Ghana Gas, Alfred Ogbame said the company had other plans to proceed with. He said it is important to note that the process could not be perpetual and that it had to end somewhere per the contract. SOURCE: Daily Graphic
