GHS develops guidelines to integrate mental health into primary healthcare system

As part of efforts to improve mental health care in the country, the Ghana Health Service has developed guidelines to help integrate mental health into the primary healthcare system.

With these guidelines, regional and district hospitals are to establish wards or units dedicated solely for mental patients.

The focal person for Mental Health at the Ghana Health Service, Dr Cynthia Sottie made this known at a stakeholder meeting on community mental health.
