US hospital may receive Ebola-infected doctor Reports indicate that a doctor from Sierra Leone with US residency who has Ebola could travel to the United States for treatment. A spokesperson of the Nebraska Medical Centre in Omaha, where the patient may be treated said the doctor got infected in Sierra Leone and recently tested positive for Ebola. Officials say he will soon be evaluated for possible treatment of the disease in the US, adding that this will be done when he is well enough to be airlifted. The man is believed to be a surgeon, but it is not clear how he contracted the disease. He is married to a US citizen and has several children. The Nebraska Medical Centre’s bio containment unit is one of only a handful of hospitals in the United States with facilities to treat Ebola. NEWS24
