Border personnel trained on Ebola case management

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) says it has provided experts at all entry points in the country to check and prevent any outbreak of the Ebola virus. 

The Chairman of the subcommittee on Ebola Case Management of the GHS, Dr Samuel Akoriyea Kaba, disclosed this at the opening of a three day workshop on Ebola case management in Tamale.

The training is being organized by the Ghana Health Service with the aim of improving the skills of personnel at entry points in the Northern Region to detect and handle cases.

The workshop brought together the police, Medical personnel, customs’ service and other specialists at entry points in the region.

The Deputy Director of Public Health, Dr James Sarkodie, said Ghana has done a lot in preventing the outbreak of the disease and called on Ghanaians to take precaution in case of an outbreak.

He added that the three day workshop in the Northern Region will be extended to other regions to educate border personnel on how to handle Ebola cases.
