Major Roads In Accra To Be Blocked In Lieu Of ECOWAS Ebola Meeting

Major roads in parts of Accra will be blocked to motorists from Thursday 6th to Friday 7th November. 

This is to ensure a successful ECOWAS meeting on Ebola to be held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Accra. 

Meanwhile, motorists and the public have been advised to co-operate with Security officials who will be stationed at vantage points to ensure sanity on the roads. 

The Greater Accra Police PRO, Efia Tenge, told Radio Ghana that the Police Administration is poised for a tussle free day during the two day Ebola summit. 

The routes that will be blocked are from the Opeibea building through Golden Tulip, 37 military hospital to Mövenpick hotel.

“It is only the inner lane that will be dedicated to dignitaries attending the summit and outer parts of that particular lane opened to the public,” ASP Efia Tenge said. 

“In the same vein, right from the national Theatre through the Canadian embassy, straight to 37 military hospital and to the Silver Star building is opened to the public. That portion of the road will not be interrupted in anyway,” she added.
