Environmental providers Association calls on government to allocate funds for disposal of debris after National Sanitation exercise. The Executive Director of the Environmental Services Providers Association, Ama Ofori Antwi, says the solution to clearing the heaps of refuse still in town two days after the National Sanitation Day is for government to share the cost of transporting the refuse to the final dumping site. The Environmental Services Providers Association last Saturday took full responsibility of collecting and transporting the refuse, however due to the high cost involved, the Association was not able to collect all the refuse. Mrs. Ofori Antwi said it will be vital for government to direct MMDAS to allocate funds for the National Sanitation exercise. Speaking in an interview with Gloria Anderson, Mrs. Ofori Antwi expressed worry over the low-turnout for the exercise, adding that it is important that Ghanaians change their attitude towards sanitation issues.
