Striking Workers In Ghana Urged To Resume Work 

The Out-going Men’s Desk Programme Officer of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church - Ghana, Reverend Collins Asempapa, has appealed to striking workers in the country to tamper justice with mercy by heeding to the court decision and resume work, while seeking appropriate channels to address their concerns. 

He said even though workers have the legitimate right to express displeasure against issues relating to their remuneration, such demonstrations and demands should be done in an atmosphere of decorum devoid of hostile agitation and negative impact on innocent citizens. 

Rev Asempapa was speaking at the thanksgiving service to climax the three-day conference of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church - Ghana, Men’s Fellowship National Delegates Conference held at Bolgatanga. 

The event was held on the theme, “God of life, lead us to Justice, Peace and Dignity for Wholeness.” 

Rev Asempapa urged faith-based organizations, traditional authorities, the National Peace Council and other influential individuals and organizations to intervene in the impasse. 

He also called on Christians to serve as worthy disciples in society by preaching against injustice, lawlessness, hostility, greediness and corruption. 

The Upper East Deputy Regional Minister, Daniel Syme described the theme for the event as relevant to current state indiscipline creeping in some facet of Ghanaian society.  

He called on the Church to intensify its crusade of promoting peace, justice and unity that the country requires to strengthen its democratic structures and stability.
