Tema School Feeding Programme; Caterers express concern with delays in payment

Most Caterers engaged under the School Feeding Programme in Tema have expressed concern over delays in payment for services rendered to the Programme.

According to the Caterers, the Assembly’s indebtedness has compelled them to pre-finance meals served the pupils,a situation he said  is adversely affecting their operations.

Speaking to Radio Ghana on anonymity, the Caterers explained that this practice may put them out of business since they will not be able to continue pre-financing their services.

Meanwhile Radio Ghana's checks indicate that some Caterers are satisfied with the Assembly’s terms of payment.

The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Isaac Ashai Odamtten said he is aware of the challenges and that the Assembly is doing all it can to ensure that the Caterers are paid.
