Ghana remains vulnerable to negative effects of climate change

Ghana is one of the countries that stand the greatest risk of the effect of climate-change.

Although the country ranks 108 in the list of nations that contribute to global climate-change, Ghana remains vulnerable to the negative effects of climate through the activities of industrialised countries.

An environmental communication consultant, Ama Kodom Agyemang, disclosed this on Radio Ghana’s Current Affairs Programme, “FOCUS”, which discussed the effects of climate-change.

She called for multi-sectoral collaboration to help address the threatening effect of climate-change. 

Commenting on the same issues a representative of the EPA, Antwi Boasiako Amoah said Ghana has enough laws to protect the environment as well as minimize activities that contribute to climate-change effects.

He said though climate-change could have devastating health effects there are some positives and called for all hands to be on deck to mitigate the effects of climate-change.
