The Daily Graphic urges Ghanaians to recognise the relevance of the Founder's Day celebration and impress on the country's leaders to use the occasion to talk about the achievements of Nkrumah across the country. The paper says it is important to translate Nkrumah's vision and what he stood for into practical action to promote development that will reflect in the economy to eliminate poverty. The paper therefore calls for all hands to be on deck to enable the country to achieve economic independence. 

The Ghanaian Times wonders why power generation in the country keeps worsening inspite of the numerous interventions from both government and the private sector. The paper says the country needs adequate power to drive its economy in order to create the necessary environment for investment. The Times says the nation's only hope to overcome the energy problem lies in the completion of the gas plant at Atuabo in the Western region which is expected to increase power generation. The Paper therefore stresses the need for Ghanaians to make good use of electricity, by making sure they switch off all electrical appliances that are not in use to conserve energy.
 
 The Daily Heritage commends the Ningo Prampram District Health Directorate for commencing a pregnancy school at the Prampram Health Center to educate residents on pregnancy-related issues. Stressing on the risk involved in pregnancy, the Paper says maternal mortality can be reduced drastically if enough education on pregnancy is given whiles pregnant women and teenagers take their antenatal care seriously. The Heritage says the pregnancy school must be replicated across the country to complement existing efforts at achieving the MDG Goals four and five that seeks to reduce child mortality and improve maternal health by 2015. 

The Today Newspaper indicates that lack of education on the part of leaders especially health professionals is something the country needs to take a critical look at. The paper says cervical cancer which has no cure can be prevented and controlled if Women in particular are encouraged to avoid early sex and multiple partners. The paper calls on government to ensure the necessary policies and mechanisms are enforced to prevent this disease.
