With today making one year of the election petition brought to the Supreme Court by the 2012 flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey. The paper says there is the need to undertake reforms to avoid a recurrence of events that could lead the nation in a similar situation. The paper urges the Electoral Commission to thoroughly clean the voters register for it to be acceptable to all political parties to avoid challenges of its authenticity. The Graphic is optimistic that the necessary steps will be taken to ensure that election 2016 will be free and fair. 

The Ghanaian Times supports government position on the need for countries in the West African sub-region to work together to combat the Ebola scare. In the opinion of the paper, the disease has dire consequences on the socio-economic life of not only the affected countries but the whole continent. To the paper, the ban of travel restrictions in some countries has also affected the tourism sector and productivity. 

The Heritage wishes the NPP well as it prepares for its crucial poll. It urges the delegates to express the wish of the millions of supporters in the party to conform the long-held conservative notion they know what is always best for the NPP. To the paper, the delegates decision must be clear and unambiguous to lay to rest the needless rancour permeating through the party. 

The Today Newspaper calls on government to stop depending on foreign countries, International agencies and donors for support. To the people, the country has all it takes to enhance the livelihood of the depending on foreign assistance as a result of poor economic policies. It calls on the country's leaders to sit-up and think through their economic policies to bring relief to the people. The paper also urges the people to join in the fight against foreign depending which is killing the spirit of nationalism and reducing the country's sovereign status.
