Judge warns against subverting justice

A Circuit Court Judge in Accra, Hellen Amoah, has warned against subverting justice. 

Madam Amoah urged litigants and accused persons alike to refrain from any act of inducing the law with bribes. 

The judge who was addressing the audience in an open court took strong exception to attempts to influence her decision in matters pending before her court. 

She also warned against the use of influential people to persuade her into being considerate in cases. 

Madam Amoah said such acts will not be entertained in her court and asked all persons who have paid monies to any counsel or court staff with the hope of buying justice to take back their money from the people they paid to. 

She said justice bought is no justice at all. 

While bemoaning the current situation of alleged corruption in the judiciary the judge said the image created for the judiciary has implications for foreign investors as no foreigner would want to invest in a country with a system.
