British Ebola patient arrives back home from Sierra Leone A British who contracted the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone has arrived back in the UK. The healthcare worker landed in London in a specially-equipped C-17 aircraft and has been transported to an isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital in north London. A Department of Health spokesman said the man is currently not seriously unwell. Health officials have stressed the Ebola risk to the UK remains very low. The health department said the decision to return the patient to the UK was taken following clinical advice. Deputy Chief medical officer of the department Prof John Watson, said the patient would be taken in a specially-adapted ambulance to a high level isolation unit, the first of its kind in the UK. This is Britons first confirmed case of Ebola, a virus that has killed close to 2,000 people. Meanwhile doctors have begun treating the victim named William Pooley, a 29-year-old volunteer nurse. BBC
