Cathedral Church of Most Holy Trinity celebrates 120th Anniversary

A thanksgiving service has been held in Accra to mark the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the Cathedral Church of the Most Holy Trinity. 

The Cathedral situated on the High Street is the centre of worship of the Accra Diocese of the Anglican Church. 

It was constructed in 1894 with a vote of five thousand pounds from the Development budget of the British Colonial government upon the recommendation of the then Governor of the Gold Coast, William Brandforth Griffith. 

Speaking at the service, the Anglican Bishop of Accra, Rt Rev Dr Daniel Mensah Torto announced plans to construct a new structure for the church at its present location. 

He charged members to eschew acts that go to make Accra filthy so as to curb the spread of Cholera.
