Fire at Kumasi Central Market Quickly Brought Under Control Reports from Kumasi say a fire outbreak at the Kumasi Central Market last night was quickly brought under control by the Manhyia Station of the Ghana National Fire Service. The fire which started in a kiosk at French Line was believed to have begun as a result of poor electrical wiring. A source at the Komfo Anokye Fire station told our correspondent that the station received a distress call and quickly relayed the message to the Manhyia Station which is closer to the Central Market. The officers mobilized themselves, rushed to the scene and managed to stop the fire from spreading. The source said electricity supply to the area was also quickly disconnected while investigations continue. GBC
